When you’re thinking about the protein in your daily diet, consider these two questions: “am I getting enough protein?” and “am I getting quality protein?” In general, we need about 46-56 grams of protein daily, depending on weight and activity level. Protein can help boost metabolism, build muscle, and supply the nutrients for cell repair and maintenance. The type of protein you take in contributes to this; some proteins are loaded with saturated fats, while most soy-based proteins contain GMO by-products and are poorly utilized by the body (only about 70% compared to the proprietary rice protein in Zing Bars which is about 98%). Quality protein contains all 9 essential amino acids, making it a complete protein.
Of course, we take all this into account when crafting each Zing bar flavor to be both delicious and nutritious. All Zing bars hit the snack bar “sweet spot” of 10 to 13 grams of complete protein per bar from nuts, nut butters, quinoa, proprietary rice protein, and peas.
